The School Explorers sessions and Orientation Days
19 Oct 2021
Dear Parents and Carers,
It has been wonderful to meet with many of you over the past week. For those I have not met with yet, I look forward to seeing you over the next few weeks.
For those who have not heard, I am very pleased to share that I have been successful in attaining additional classroom teacher staffing to support our large 2022 Kindergarten class. Next year our new students will be fortunate to have both Mrs. Alison Cummins and Mrs. Sally-Anne Croker as their classroom teachers. Alison will be in class full-time and Sally-Anne will be nearly full-time, with the exception of her Assistant Principal and Child Safe Advocate release. Mrs. Karen O'Keefe will join Kindergarten when Sally-Anne has this executive release time. The 2022 Kindergarten class will also be well supported by Classroom Support Assistants. The students will also have access to an additional learning space.
Regarding our scheduled Kindergarten Orientation Program which includes The School Explorer’s sessions, I received the great news that we can go ahead with strict Level 3 COVID-Safe measures in place. This means we can welcome your children onsite this Friday from 2pm - 3pm for our School Explorers 'Solve It' session. The children will have the opportunity to explore the fun of numbers and counting with ‘Count Me In Too’ early maths games, supported by our Year 5 students, Mrs Spackman, Mrs Walsh, Mrs Romer, Mrs O'Brien, Mrs Hewitt and me. If the weather is fine we will hold this session outside on our Top Playground. Our other School Explorers sessions are scheduled for Friday 29 October and Friday 5 November, at the same time.
Unfortunately, Level 3 restrictions do not allow parents and carers onsite so you will be asked to drop off and pick up your children from the front of the school. You will be greeted at the gates by staff, and our very capable Year 5 students will take your child to the activities. If you think your child will be too anxious to proceed without you, we can arrange another student they are familiar with (be this a sibling or friend from any grade) to be there to support them. Please note, there is no compulsory attendance at any of these sessions. I apologise for this inconvenience and hope that this restriction will have eased by our Orientation Days.
Our Orientation Days are scheduled for:
Half days- 9 or 10 November - 9.30am - 1.00pm
Full day- 15 November - 9.30am - 3.00pm
Full day- 22 November - 9.30am - 3.00pm
Belinda will send an email soon asking you to nominate which half-day you would like your child to attend. These days will cater for approximately half of the class on each day. It will be first in, best dressed for this half-day. If there is an overriding necessity for a date that is already full, please contact Belinda directly. The two full days will be for the whole class.
For those needing to purchase school uniforms, it is generally recommended to leave this towards the end our 2021 school year in case of any growth spurts. In the coming weeks, you will receive an email with dates to select for a uniform fitting. There will also be opportunities to purchase uniforms before the beginning of Term 1 2022.
Thank you for your patience and understanding and please do not hesitate to call if you have any questions.

Kindergarten updated dates for interviews
06 Oct 2021
Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope you managed to enjoy a restful holiday break with your family.
This term, we have commenced Term 4 with Stage 3 Restrictions in place. Unfortunately, this means that we are still unable to hold any transition or orientation sessions for our Kindergarten 2022 students. We will leave our current dates set in place and confirm their viability as they approach.
We will, however, proceed with our formal Kindergarten Interviews in either a COVID safe, face-to-face manner or via an online Zoom meeting. Please click on the link below to book your interview.
I look forward to seeing you and your Kindergarten starter/s soon.
Kind regards, Sarah Lowe Principal

Week 10 Update
10 Sep 2021
Dear Parents and Carers,
Thank you for your prompt reply to the survey, sent out yesterday. This has enabled me to put plans in place for a safe return to onsite learning on Monday.
I can confirm that each class will have their usual classroom teacher and routine, including their additional activities with our specialist teachers. All classes will be running face-to-face and remotely next week.
Activities that require mixed class groups, however, will cease until the restrictions ease.
The following information is pertinent to learning on Monday, and may differ from the letter I sent out yesterday:
NSW Health and the Department of Education are discouraging public bus travel, where other arrangements can be made
Masks for primary school children are strongly encouraged - but not mandated
There will be no Morning Club until further notice (sorry about the inconvenience). If you are dropping your children to school, please only do so from 8.40am onwards.
Each morning the children are to enter the school through the Old Hall for hand sanitising and temperature checking before being sent to a specific area until bell time
If your child is learning remotely unfortunately we will not be able to offer the class TEAMS meetings next week
Due to our spacious playgrounds, the children are able to be broken into two larger cohorts for play breaks
We strongly ask that any children displaying any signs of illness refrain from attending school onsite.
Students returning to school are to wear their full winter school uniform.
Each afternoon, student pick up will commence at 3.05pm to allow a staggered approach for students leaving the school. Your child will be sent out to you when you arrive. Please wait in a visible position, whilst maintaining physical distancing, outside the school gates.
For students remote learning, work can be collected from the Old Hall this afternoon, or on Monday morning. We ask that you avoid coming between 8.35am - 9.10am and 3.00pm and 3.30pm.
We look forward to welcoming our returning students back onsite and endeavor to provide the best onsite and remote learning possible for Week 10.
