If a child is sick at school, the parents or carers must pick them up.
We remind visitors on site must be wearing a mask. We understand NSW Police are conducting spot checks on schools to check compliance with this requirement.
Thank you again for your consistent and thorough support.
Welcome!
I would like to extend a very warm welcome to Will (Year 3) and Evie (Year 1) Waldron. Will and Evie have commenced this week after recently moving from Bellingen. We wish them, along with their parents, Renee and Alex, and younger siblings, a happy and fruitful association with the St Mary's School Community.
Congratulations
On behalf of the whole school community, I would like to congratulate Ashlee, Ben and Claire Picker on the safe arrival of Isabelle Ruby on Wednesday 14 July!
Both mum and baby are doing well. We look forward to meeting Isabelle!
Counsellor Visits
Our CatholicCare provider, Sharyn Lynch, will continue at St Mary's each Monday this term.
Counselling sessions are a wonderful chance for you or your child/ren to be able to discuss concerns or worries and to gain strategies to assist with the management of these.
If you would like to make an appointment please use the referral portal via https://catholiccare.force.com/housing/s/school-referral-form
If restrictions allow, on Monday 9 August at 3.15pm, Sharyn will be running a parent workshop on Emotional Regulation. All parents are welcome to attend. Care will be provided for your children for the duration of the session.

Term 3 School Value- Compassion
This term St Mary’s will focus on living our school value of COMPASSION.
Compassion is much more than just feeling sorry for another person or group of people.
The mercy value of compassion is about feeling AND ACTION. It is about loving and caring for your family and friends, and about showing kindness to people who are feeling sad or upset to help them feel better. The mercy value of compassion is about feeling that you can make a difference and setting out to do this as best you can.
Jesus is the perfect model of compassion. He showed God’s unconditional love for all humankind by always reaching out with concern, care and kindness. Out of compassion for all of humanity, he gave the ultimate sacrifice; he was crucified to free us from sin and restore our relationship with God.
How can you model Jesus’ compassion in your everyday life?
At school we are reflecting on the following Scripture passages to lead us to be more compassionate members of our community…
Ephesians 4:32 “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”
Colossians 3:12-14 “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.”
1 Thessalonians 5:15 “Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else.”

Tennis- 2021 Todd Woodbridge Cup- Hume Tennis, Yass. FINAL REMINDER
“The Todd Woodbridge Cup is a primary school competition for stage 2 (years 3 and 4) students that uses modified equipment, numeric scoring and mixed gender teams.
The competition commences with school zone events followed by regional playoffs (term 3) and finally a state final that is held at Sydney Olympic Park each year (term 4).
The Todd Woodbridge Cup is not just about selecting the best students, but encouraging participation, providing a positive experience playing tennis, growing friendships and giving students the opportunity to represent their school in a team environment. For the majority of students, this may be their first experience representing their school.”
We have 4 students who have expressed their EOI and will form a St Mary’s team. More details to come at a later date.

I am wanting to create a display in the Library around the Children’s Book Week theme “Old Worlds New Worlds Other Words”. If any families have a book character costume, I am wondering if I may borrow it for the display. It would be greatly appreciated. Please send to the office or Library.
Thank you
