Classroom Support with Mrs Spackman

Intervention Programs

Thank you to our helpers who volunteered to assist with our spelling, reading and maths intervention programs.

The time and help you give is greatly appreciated!

Morning Club

NEW RULE AT MORNING CLUB:

No personal devices or screen time during Morning Club.

Thank you for your understanding!

Morning Club is available each day from 8am-8.40am. It is an opportunity for children to arrive at school early when it is difficult for parents who need to be at work early or have appointments. This service is available for all children from K-6 and is held in the library. The children will be required to participate in quiet activities during this time, reading, writing, drawing, colouring, board games, card games, puzzles and/or homework tasks. At 8.40am the children who attend will then go to the playground for morning supervision by a staff member. No student is to be in the playground unsupervised before 8.40am.

Personalised Plan Meetings

Thank you to the families who attended our Personalised Plan meetings. As you would understand, a lot of time goes into the planning and timing of these meetings. It is very difficult to manage the coordination of the meetings, release teachers from class by employing casual teachers, have sibling meetings at a similar time and ensure all staff are available. I am very appreciative of those who attended scheduled times or were able to make alternative times to meet. Thank you.

These meetings are held for students with additional needs requiring intervention or adjustments. If you were unable to attend these meetings, please contact the School Office, your class teacher or myself to reschedule the meeting. Interviews for students in Kinder will be held later in the term, allowing them time to settle into the school routine.

Maths Club

Maths club is held every Monday after school from 3.15pm until 4pm. It is an opportunity for children who love maths to do more maths, an opportunity for those who have some difficulties with maths to seek help and a chance for children to complete maths homework.

I am very happy to take this club and enjoy working with the children who attend. Generally, the children that attend work hard and are very attentive however, over the past two weeks I have had to speak to a couple of children about their behaviour. Having to do this cuts into vital maths learning time. It would be appreciated if you could take the time to speak with your child about Maths Club and its purpose. Most children are very well behaved. Thank you.
