Library News with Mrs. Hewitt

Book Week

This week we celebrated Book Week.

Thank you for supporting the Book Fair. We receive a commission from the sales which help provide resources for the library.

The children were entertained yesterday morning with a live performance featuring the book The Imagineer. This was thoroughly enjoyed by all students.

The following are some of their thoughts:

I thought it was going to be a two or three-person show, turns out it was a one-man show. Tony, who performed the show, is talented and a funny person. He is very good at puppetry. The set was amazing. They had bright lights and cool props. If I had to rate it out of five stars, it would be five stars.  Charlie Lang

Tony Bones was an amazing actor. There was humour, interesting things about old objects and good voice acting! It was a one-man show and Tony made it almost seem easy. He also made-up heaps of songs for the show, which really fitted the show. I hope Tony and his crew will be able to join us again with another great book, humour, and great acting! I rated this show a 5 out of 5 stars and I’m sure you all did too.  Chloe Bensley

WINNER, WINNER, CHICKEN DINNER!

As a filmmaker in the making, I was heavily inspired. The puppeteering was great, and the dynamics between Penny and her Grandfather were heartfelt, and strong throughout. And.. the jokes always landed. Overall, a big FAT SOLID 10/10!  Angus Foley

Throughout the week the children also participated in virtual excursions offered by the State Library, in which some of Australia’s greatest children’s authors and illustrators took them through activities that stimulated their imaginations.

Thank you also for supporting our Pyjama day. The children looked fantastic.
