COVID Update

I would like to thank you all for your support with keep your children at home if they are unwell or presenting with cold and flu symptoms. We have had increasing student absences as the weeks have progressed and we are aware of a variety of illnesses spreading in our community. So far, we have been very fortunate with the number of COVID cases in our school and currently, we only have two students who are positive.
If you would like some Rapid Antigen Tests sent home with your child, please contact Belinda.

School Board Review Consultation

The Catholic Education Commission endorsed the establishment of a Working Group to review various aspects of the Archdiocesan School Board and Community Council models.

During the course of this year, the Working Group has engaged in targeted consultation with internal stakeholders and has had some preliminary discussions with a narrow group of external stakeholders, including representatives from the Catholic School Parents Archdiocese of Canberra & Goulburn.

The Working Group is now seeking to draw on the experiences, expertise and perspectives of parents and carers, school staff and members of school communities through a process of general consultation. To this end, an Issues Paper has been drafted outlining the key issues that the Working Group has identified to date and posing a number of discussion questions that the Working Group is seeking responses to.

The Issues Paper has been attached below and members of our school community can go to the webpage: https://cg.catholic.edu.au/school-board-and-community-council-review/foreword/ to submit a response to the questions posed in the Issues Paper.

The closing date for submissions is 2 September 2022.

Jeans for Genes Day

On Friday 12 August the staff and students will participate in the Jeans for Genes Fundraiser. Money raised through Jeans for Genes goes towards medical research to help discover treatments and cures for the 1 in 20 kids facing a birth defect or genetic disease.

Students are to wear jeans with their sports uniform tops and joggers and are asked to contribute a gold coin donation, for this privilege. The money collected will be uploaded to our donation site.

If you would also like to make a contribution please visit  https://fundraise.jeansforgenes.org.au/fundraisers/stmarysprimaryschoolcrookwell2583/wear-your-jeans

Please help us support this vital research.
