COVID Update
Please remain vigilant with testing and hygiene procedures. We have seen an increase in school case numbers this week and are strongly encouraging all students to monitor for symptoms and sanitise regularly. There is a limited supply of RAT tests available that can be sent home upon request. We appreciate the rise in active cases is concerning and are asking for your cooperation to keep it under control. Please do not send any children to school with flu-like symptoms and alert the front office of any positive cases as soon as you can.
With the lack of available casual staff, there will be the need to split some classes over the next week. All students will be supervised and provided with relevant tasks. Work is also being prepared for any students who need to isolate at home. Please contact your child's teacher for material.
Mackillop Swimming
We were so excited this week to cheer on Harry Price at the NSWCPS (Mackillop) Swimming Championships. There were cheers and lots of clapping as we sat in front of the livestream to witness Harry place THIRD in his 50m MultiClass Freestyle race. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! We could tell the atmosphere poolside was electric and we were so pleased to see Harry supported by his Mum, Katie, as he swam.
This fabulous result now means that Harry has qualified as a member of the MACKILLOP Team and will compete at the NSWPSSA Swimming Championships at SOPAC on Monday 4 April.
CONGRATULATIONS HARRY!!
Tour de Cure!
Last Friday we gathered to cheer on and support the Tour de Cure as they left Crookwell on their second last day of cycling. St Mary's students had raised over $100 to donate to the Cure for Cancer fundraiser. Thank you Mrs. Rachael Croker for the insight and thought to support this worthwhile cause.
Showcase of Learning
This year we are pleased to be able to present our Stage 3 Showcase of Learning Assemblies. Our first assembly will be presented by Year Five and Six on the last day of term, Friday 8 April.
The parents and carers assembly will be held at 12.30pm. Please enter the Hall through the hall front doors, and sanitise before taking your seat.
No Hat, No Play
A reminder of our policy "No Hat, No Play". Please ensure your child has their hat packed in their bags so they are able to participate in playtime.
We've had an increasing number of students coming to ask for hats to borrow, however for health reasons, we do not like to share hats and they will no longer be given out as spares.
Uniform Reminder
Some other reminders about our school uniform- hair accessories must be in the school colours only, earrings must be sleepers and studs and no nail polish is to be worn to school.
Hair, for both boys and girls, is to be tied back if it is longer than collar length.
Girls should have white ankle socks, boys the school grey socks with the yellow band. Both boys and girls wear the school green socks with yellow band for sports days.
School Cross Country Carnival
Last Friday we were blessed with a beautiful day to run our School Cross Country. The event ran smoothly and efficiently with expert coordination and planning from Mrs. Rachael Croker.
Congratulations to those students who have placed within the first six in each age group (9-12yrs). They are now invited to be members of the St Mary's Cross Country team to compete at the Northern Region Carnival on Friday 29 April. Further details can be found in the Rep Sport section of this newsletter.
Team Members will be announced and presented with event information this Friday at our School Assembly. First, Second and Third place-getters will also receive their ribbons then.
