Three-Way Conversations and Interim Reports
It was lovely to see so many of our parents and carers on Monday and Tuesday for our Three-way (parent/student/teacher) Conversations. Many of the students I spoke to were very excited to share their learning spaces with their family.
The Three-way Conversations are an opportunity to help your child discuss and set learning goals and to work with the classroom teacher, as a team, to strive for the best educational outcomes for your child.
Towards the end of next term, you will receive your child's academic report and have the opportunity for an optional follow-up meeting.
I encourage you to keep in contact with your child's teacher. Issues that arise are best dealt with immediately and our staff are always very happy to assist.
Showcase of Learning
This year we are pleased to be able to present our Stage 3 Showcase of Learning Assemblies. Our first assembly will be presented by Year Five and Six on the last day of term, Thursday 1 April.
Due to COVID restrictions, and to comply with the 2m2 per person rule in our Hall, the assembly will be presented twice, once for the students and the second time for the parents and carers of Stage Three students.
The parents and carers assembly will be held at 12.30pm. Please enter the Hall through the hall front doors, sign in and sanitise before taking your seat. Please also remember to social distance from others that are not part of your household.
Hearing Awareness Week - Sound Bites Activities
Congratulations to Year Five on organising a rotation of fun 'Hearing Bites' activities for our students last Friday. Below is a report written by Jack Peden in Year Five sharing more about this event.
"On Friday we had a great experience about raising awareness for hearing impairments and we raised $198 for The Deafness Foundation. This was also great fun for the school as the Year 5 students made many enjoyable games for people to compete in. These games included Chinese Whispers and Marco Polo that let you feel what it is like to have a hearing impairment, and many other games such as touch football, soccer, tug o’ war, three-legged race, kickball and the wall. Everyone was also given a butterfly badge symbolising World Hearing Day.
I interviewed some of the students to find out how they felt after the Sound Bites Picnic. People felt very excited and wanted to do more, people also felt very happy and joyful and loved why we did it. Many also learnt that raising money for people who struggle in life is very good and warms their hearts.
The students I interviewed for this article were Chloe Bensley, Gabby Price and Sophie Croker".
